The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) concluded the training workshop on “the successful implementation of strategies through BSCs” at its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. Participants from the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) in Oman, the Public Authority for Industry in Kuwait, Al-Maimani Group in Saudi Arabia and the Village Trading Group in Qatar, in addition to a number of GOIC employees attended this training.
His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel, GOIC Secretary General, distributed certificates to the participants and reiterated that GOIC deploys relentless efforts to develop the skills of industrial staff in GCC countries.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Laila Diab Shrair, Strategic Planning Consultant at GOIC. Its aim was to identify current challenges to the implementation of strategies by learning how to carry out strategic analyses before developing corporate strategies. Dr. Shrair explained the importance of setting flexible and clear goals to guide institutions and organisations. She also determined key factors of a successful implementation of strategies and quickly went through balanced scorecards (BSCs).
Participants got to know the necessary tools to develop procedural steps making strategies work in real situations. They also learned how to translate business plans into budgets to guarantee efficient cohesion between institutions’ business plans and budgets. The workshop highlighted the importance of individual contribution to the implementation of institutions’ strategies and the use of BSCs to manage the implementation of the strategies.
