Grand Excelsior Hotels & Resorts took over Sheraton Deira Hotel

Bin Haider Hospitality, a subsidiary of Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group (MOBH), has rebranded its Sheraton Deira as Grand Excelsior Hotel and taken over management of the property from Starwood Hotels.

This property is the fourth hotel to be internally branded as a Grand Excelsior. The other hotels are in Bur Dubai, Al Barsha and Sharjah.  Bin Haider plans to increase the brand portfolio and expand with more hotel projects across UAE, Middle East and Europe. Grand Excelsior Hotels and Resorts define the true Arabian hospitality in a unique traditional environment where leisure and business guests feel home away from home.

Bin Haider hospitality section consists of three sections – one owns and manages hotels under the Grand Excelsior brand, second section owns with third party management; and third owns and manages hotel apartments under Deebaj brand.

The rebranded hotel is ideally located in the heart of Deira, only few minutes’ drive from Dubai International airport, close to the Gold and Spice Souks, Dubai Creek, shopping malls, other historic attractions and business districts. The hotel has 229 spacious guest rooms including 35 suites, it offers a selection of top quality restaurants, as The Terrace which is atrium styled and serves international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Le Café, an informal lounge serving light refreshments or The Lindbergh’s, a sports bar on the 5th floor and the AI Masah Ballroom which can accommodate up to 500 guests. The hotel has a well-equipped conference and meeting hall, a health club and a swimming pool. Bin Haider says it will continue to offer an international standard of service.

Continuity is assured with the executive management team staying in place, under a new General Manager, Mr. Safwan El Khayat who possesses an understanding of the Middle Eastern market developed over 30 years in the field of hospitality, having worked with different international hotel chains. His appointment adds further strength to the rebranded hotel.
