GreenParking to provide Electro Vehicle Chargers at DEWA stations and across the UAE

GreenParking, the first one stop shop parking company in the Middle East that provides environmental friendly products and solutions, was selected by DEWA as one of the main suppliers of EV-Chargers as part of the Dubai Government Smart City initiative.

GreenParking’s EV chargers have the largest number of installations in Europe and have brought this expertise in environmental-friendly parking systems to the Middle East. Eight EV chargers can currently be found at DEWA stations with a further 84 charging facilities planned across Dubai. Each station will have the capacity to charge two vehicles simultaneously.

Four international companies bid for the opportunity to be the provider for DEWA’s EV-Charging stations. GreenParking, the only Dubai based company, won a major part of the tender.

Many challenges emerged in bringing EV chargers to the Middle East, which required technological innovation, to be achieved.

“Our state of the art EV chargers have been specifically modified to function effectively in the Middle Eastern climate. These breakthroughs have allowed us to plan installation of EV chargers across the city. Our long- term goal is to bring about a shift in energy efficiency in the region to fit the GreenParking concept of a greener tomorrow. We are currently looking for partners in a joint venture to build our own multi-story green car parking facility in which every element will have an environmental benefit.” Added Mr. Ghandour.

With the first installation of EV chargers in the Middle East, the vision of a greener, sustainable Dubai is not too distant.
