hellofood marks second anniversary with one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest influencer events
On the occasion of its second anniversary, leading global online food ordering marketplace hellofood https://www.hellofood.sa celebrated by hosting some of Saudi Arabia’s biggest social media influencers for an offline party full of food, fun, and social media competitions at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Jeddah on the 18th of April 2015.
hellofood’s two year milestone is significant in that it neatly encapsulates the brand’s journey of becoming a leader in the online food delivery space. It also showcases hellofood’s ability to evolve its business model to deal with specific circumstances and opportunities across MENA markets. “The past two years have been superb for hellofood. We’ve seen consistent month over month growth of 30 percent. Our app has seen 10 million downloads globally. And in MENA, we’ve responded to consumer needs by innovating new services. We’ve pioneered same-day grocery delivery in Jordan. In Saudi Arabia, we’ve unified restaurants and vendors under our own same-hour delivery service, which is an absolute market first. We’re also ranked the number 1 food online marketplace in Saudi Arabia, thanks to the support we’ve received from early online adopters,” said hellofood’s Managing Director in the Middle East Beschir Hussain The two-year anniversary celebration, which highlighted hellofood’s meteoric rise to success, was also one of the largest influencer events of its kind in Saudi Arabia. It attracted over 200 top tier influencers and created a space where members of the conventional press mingled with social media champions in a homage to the country’s booming tech and online culture that is exemplified by hellofood’s growth.
“hellofood could not have achieved what it has without Saudis’ unique appreciation of new technology and online solutions. We are happy to show our appreciation by bringing together the very same demographic of social media influencers and tech enthusiasts who helped us succeed better in two years than we ever thought possible,” added Hussain. The second anniversary celebration was hosted by Mix FM presenter and influencer Yasser Saggaf. A stand-up comedy show by Nawaf Al Zofiry was also part of the program. The 200 plus attendees sent close to 1,000 tweets reaching over 2,000,000 followers and creating over 9,000,000 impressions on Twitter, with an additional 1,000,000 followers reached on Instagram, making this event among the largest in the country’s history.
“Our two year anniversary is not just a look back at some of the major milestones hellofood has crossed but also a salute to Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning tech and innovation culture, the people leading that charge, and the influencers disseminating ideas to a broader audience. This online culture is here to stay, and is catalysing new ideas and shaping the country’s economy and consumer in very exciting ways. hellofood is determined to remain at the forefront of this wave of change,” concluded Hussain.
