Thousands of visitors thronged Al-Musmak Palace Museum and the National Museum in Riyadh during National Day and the Eid Al-Adha celebrations to experience the rich historic and cultural exhibits which reflect the Kingdom’s identity and glorious past.
“Al-Musmak Palace Museum received over 10,000 visitors during the National Day and Eid Al-Adha holidays, which will conclude on Saturday for government employees,” a top official of the museum said Thursday.
Qasr Al-Musmak, or Al-Musmak Palace, was turned into a museum to allow visitors to have a peek into Saudi history. It has become a must-see tourist destination for state guests as well as tourists and visitors to the capital. In addition, it is visited regularly by schoolchildren learning about the Kingdom’s history.
After its redevelopment, Al-Musmak has become one of the advanced museums in the Kingdom, and the finest model for modern museums in terms of presentation.
“It is a repository of the most important historical memories associated with the Kingdom as an entity and its unification,” the official underlined.
Museum officials handed visitors literature on tourism and national heritage and gifts, such as T-shirts, posters, sashes, flags and caps bearing the logo of Saudi National Day.
