The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) launched an initiative to improve the contractual relationship for domestic workers.
In a statement, the ministry indicated that the initiative regulates the procedures for unilaterally terminating the employment contract if the domestic worker stops work.
If the employer terminates the contract due to the domestic worker’s interruption from work within two years from his entry into the Kingdom, he must finally leave the Kingdom within 60 days. Otherwise, the worker will violate the residency and work regulations.
If the contract is terminated due to work interruption after more than two years, the domestic worker must finally leave the Kingdom or move to a new employer within 60 days from work interruption. Otherwise, he will be considered in violation of the residency and work regulations.
