Hundreds Participated in the Aspire Zone’s Weekend Events
The first edition of the Aspire Fitness Challenge concurrently took place in its final weekend on 22 and 23 May, and continued throughout the Aspire Dome Indoor Athletics Track.
Three hundred adult male participants took part in 8 activities to complete the full challenge, during which 40 were selected for the final challenge: 60, 540 and 1,500 meter runs, sit ups, pushups, pull ups, stand jump, medical ball throw, rope climbing and circuit activity. Based on the best-recorded score of each individual, Christopher Oktech won first place, while Mohammed Malekt won second place, and third place went to Amer Nasri.
While 40 participants were competing to win the fitness challenge others where showing their talents in the skateboarding and BMXing competition that was organized by Aspire zone in collaboration with Qatar Extreme Sport on 23 May 2015.
The Skateboarding and BMXing competition took place between the Torch Doha and Khalifa Stadium, bringing together skateboarding professionals and aficionados. During the first day, 30 talented professionals performed their best skateboarding tricks and moves. On the two remaining days, 25 skateboarders and 15 BMXers competed against each other to demonstrate their skateboarding and BMXing skills in an intense, adrenaline-filled and active celebration of the art and sport of skateboarding. Gonzalez Guillermo won the skateboarding contest, while Lambert Correa walked away with the prize for the BMXing competition.
Commenting on these events, Mr. Abdulla Al Khater, Events Manager at Aspire Zone said:
