Moseley Boat Club was established in 1866 on the river Thames near London and the first race was run the following year.
The event is usually attended by rowers from around the UK and Europe and is used as one of the preparation races for the world championships in September. Husein Alireza competed in the top Tier 1 level with a distance of one kilometer including navigating bends on the Thames. The championship is decided after three rounds of racing.
Saudi Rowing Federation team members took time this summer to train in the UK under the direction of British coach and Olympic silver medalist Bill Barry. Participation in the Moseley Boat Races has helped the whole team greatly raise their level of experience.
