In 2024, NWC completed 118 projects worth SR +5.5 billion for 1.8 million beneficiaries

The National Water Company (NWC) announced that it has completed 118 water and sanitation projects in 2024 across all regions of the Kingdom at a cost of more than 5.57 billion Saudi riyals, benefiting 1.8 million beneficiaries.

During a workshop in Dammam, the company gave an overview of the achievements of the project sector in 2024 and the targets for 2025 to be achieved as part of the initiative to increase the efficiency of the performance of its projects. NWC pointed out that its portfolio of capital projects exceeded 51 billion Saudi Riyals for the implementation of 677 development projects in the water and sanitation sector. The aim is to increase the coverage of services, increase the number of beneficiaries, increase the efficiency of drinking water distribution, eliminate environmental damage and improve the quality of services for citizens and residents in different regions of the Kingdom.

The workshop reviewed the implementation of 80 water supply projects at a cost of 2.73 billion Saudi Riyals and 38 sanitation projects at a cost of 2.84 billion Saudi riyals. He pointed out that the results of the projects in 2024 include the implementation of 3.2 million meters of water and sewage pipelines and networks, increasing the operational capacity of wastewater treatment plants to 478,000 cubic meters per day, increasing the capacity of wastewater treatment plants to 55,000 cubic meters per day and the construction of 51 water reservoirs with a storage capacity of more than a quarter of a million cubic meters.

NWC also stated that the workshop highlighted the start of the implementation of 376 projects in different regions of the Kingdom for water and wastewater services at a total cost of more than 28 billion Saudi Riyals, with the aim of increasing the coverage of water and wastewater services and providing the service to citizens in line with the objectives of the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.
