INTELAK HUB HOSTS NETWORKING EVENT FOR INTERNATIONAL START-UPS AT EMIRATES GROUP HEADQUARTERS

Hybrid in-person and virtual event attracts over 450 participants

Intelak Hub, Dubai’s innovation and technology platform, hosted a ‘Demo Day’ at the headquarters of one of its principal partners, the Emirates Group, to showcase the start-ups that have emerged from its programmes and further stimulate entrepreneurial growth via networking and collaboration.

During the hybrid in-person and virtual event, which attracted over 450 participants, Intelak Hub introduced the teams behind some of the most impactful start-ups in aviation, travel, and tourism, highlighting Dubai’s reputation as a city at the forefront of innovation. Presentations were given by 16 global start-ups, including InflightFlix, the Destination Video Guide company, Colibra, the Unified Flying Experience application and Lumitics, a food waste technology company.

Intelak Hub was established as part of an integrated strategy to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as the most sought destination for innovators, entrepreneurs and investors, as well as a global liveability destination. Guided by its founders - the Emirates Group, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Accenture and Microsoft - Intelak Hub is committed to supporting these start-ups with mentorship and opportunities to enable them to grow and scale their business.

To achieve this shared goal, Intelak Hub continually hosts networking events, such as the ‘Demo Day’, to gain new collaboration and partnership ideas by promoting the start-ups and highlighting their innovative services, products and cutting-edge solutions that have the potential to bring about transformative experiences across the tourism ecosystem. Each cohort of Intelak Hub has benefited from Dubai’s world-class physical and digital infrastructure that has seen the city emerge as a leading base for international start-ups.

Earlier this year, the cohort of start-ups were welcomed to the newly-opened Intelak Hub co-working space, which, supported by subsidised licensing, mentorship and workshops, have enabled the companies to accelerate their growth, as well as enhance and disrupt technology solutions for travellers across the world. Since its inception five years ago, Intelak Hub has worked with over 82 start-ups from over 20 countries, awarding over USD $60 million in funding and providing 3,000+ hours of mentorship from 135+ mentors in the network. Applications for the Intelak Incubator Cohort 11 close on 14 Feb 2022 and for more information on Intelak Hub and it’s programmes and to apply
