International Neonatal Medical Congress will discuss major regional challenges in Neonatal field

Dubai will host the 2nd Annual International Paediatrics Medical congress and the first International Neonatal Medical Congress next November, the leading event supported by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and number of major regional and global health authorities Saudi Society of Paediatrics Gastroenterology, hepatology and Nutrition (SASPGHAN), Bahrain Medical Society, Kenya Paediatric Association with the initiative from Maarefah Management.

Dr. Sridhar Kalnasindaram, Chief of paediatrics department, American Hospital - Dubai and the Chairman of the International Neonatal Medical Congress, explained that, the GCC and particularly UAE region has Neonatologists trained in many different parts of the world working together. With such a diverse training background, different approaches to clinical practice is to be well expected. The main challenge is to ensure that all of us practice good evidence based medicine, especially in a field like Neonatology where there are many important updates. The challenge for every neonatologist is to keep himself/ herself abreast with these advances.

“There are many advances in the respiratory care of newborns, including expanding role of non-invasive ventilation including high flow nasal cannula, improvement in surfactant therapy with alternative preparations as well as modes of administration as well as advances in synchronized ventilation. It is important for everyone involved in care of neonates to be well informed of these advances as well as be aware of the current NRP updates.” added Dr. Sridhar Kalnasindaram

Dr. Sridhar expressed his gratitude to be the chair of the Scientific committee of the International Neonatal medical congress which will include 3 interactive sessions at the end of both days of the conference (round table discussion), where the audience will be divided into smaller groups and will have an excellent chance to interact closely with the experienced speakers on very important topics. and will be followed by 4 interactive workshops on the 3rd and final day on key topics in Neonatology including infection control, nutrition in relation to long term health, evidence based Neonatology and Neurodevelopmental assessment.

The conference sponsored by:  UPMC, Olayan-Kimberly Clark, Johnson and Johnson, Sanofi Pasture, American hospital and Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, and more.
