Japanese healthcare product industry aims to build strong ties in MENA

Twenty companies representing the medical and health products industry in Japan will be showcasing their latest innovations and technologies as part of their participation in the Arab Health 2017 – Japan Pavilion. The exhibition will be held from 30th January to 2nd February 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Several established companies which have been operating for more than 100 years; some emerging companies; as well as world-renowned companies will be among the participants. The Japanese companies will feature their latest products and technology related to healthcare, well-being, technical support for various medical practices, and a number of unique fitness equipment which will be on display for the first time in the region.

“This broad participation of Japanese companies at the Arab Health 2017 is a strong testament of the excellent relations between the UAE and Japan, and also shows the deep interest of the two countries to exchange expertise,” said Masami Ando, Managing Director of Japan External Trade Organization, JETRO MENA & Dubai.

“Japan’s health and medical product industry always offers the latest technologies and innovations. In the last couple of years, a number of Japanese companies in the healthcare industry have been focusing on developing their global distribution strategies to improve healthcare worldwide, with the help of the international partners,” added Ando.

“Programs developed by the Japanese government and companies had played an important role in spreading the healthcare technologies and products outside of Japan.  This participation comes in line of the new growth strategies of the government, medical and health product companies,” concluded Ando.

Since 2013, Japanese health and medical product companies have been increasingly expanding their distribution networks in the global market. This is part of the new government policy called “Japan is Back” which aims for a broader expansion worldwide including the Middle East and the GCC region by 2020.
