Jeddah Chamber has completed the preparations for the launch of its new Sectoral Councils System. Developed as part of a restructuring of the Jeddah Chamber Sectoral Committees, the new system is expected to be implemented in the coming weeks when its membership mechanism has been finalized.
The Sectoral Councils System will focus on specific strategic and value-adding sectors in Jeddah and is designed to enhance the representation of the business community and increase the participation of the private sector in economic development. The launch of the system will be accompanied by an awareness campaign showcasing its benefits and highlighting the aspirations of Jeddah businesses.
Developed in collaboration with a leading global consulting house with expert knowledge of Vision 2030’s programs and initiatives, the Sectoral Councils System has been established according to international standards and global best practices. A series of comprehensive benchmark studies were taken into consideration throughout the development process, including some of the world’s most renowned chambers of commerce.
The system focuses on enhancing the role of the private sector in supporting the development, empowerment, and sustainability of targeted strategic industries. These have been selected in line with the goals of Vision 2030, as well as the competitive advantages and capabilities that place Jeddah at the forefront of the growth of these sectors and contribute to national economic development.
Key areas targeted include logistics and transportation, tourism, hospitality, entertainment, arts and culture, trade, retail, education and training, healthcare, exhibitions and conferences, urban development, light industries, manufacturing, and the digital economy.
Jeddah Chamber has stated that the new system will be officially launched with a press conference, full details of which will be announced soon.
