Organized under the patronage of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) the Jeddah International Trade Fair (JITF) 2016 was inaugurated by H.E. Hassan Ibrahim Dahlan, Secretary General of JCCI.
“As we approach the New Year, 2017, I am delighted to open Saudi Arabia’s 28th multi-sectoral trade expo on an optimistic note, with a substantial improvement in the oil price and a positive outlook for investors in the Kingdom’s non-oil sector, said His Excellency.
“Saudi Arabia is the biggest market in the Middle East and remains highly attractive for small and medium businesses, which are the backbone of strong and sustainable economic development, and I am confident that the entrepreneurial opportunities available at JITF 2016 will promote investment in non-oil sectors and make a significant contribution to diversification, which is a key aim of Saudi Vision 2030.”
The JCCI Secretary General’s comments are supported by Saudi Arabia’s easing of restrictions on foreign investors to let them own 100 percent of retail and wholesale businesses.
The multi-sectoral trade categories featured at the expo range from clothing, fashion wear, textiles, leather goods, home décor accessories, appliances and many more, with exhibitors including national country groups from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Indonesia and Turkey.
“The Jeddah International Trade Fair enjoys the stature of being the only platform for countries to display the full extent of their industrial potential,” said Mr. Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of ACE Exhibitions -
“The large profile of exhibits provide numerous opportunities to Saudi businessmen and traders to source the multitude of products from different countries and secure dealer and distributorship agreements a wide variety of consumer products.”
