Jeeny previously, presently & in the future of Saudi Arabia

Jeeny, previously known as Easy Taxi and the first smartphone application for ride bookings to enter the Saudi Market, says that being headquartered in Saudi Arabia since launch has been key in its regional success.

Launching in late 2013 to major cities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jeeny has been part of the international brand “Easy Taxi” that is known as one of the global pioneers of the e-hailing sector that boomed in 2012. The company started its Middle Eastern journey with Saudi Arabia, later branching out to Jordan. “We have always been, and strive to be, a major player of the sector.” Says Eugen Brikcius, Jeeny Middle East’s Managing Director.

“In the past 6 years, Saudi Arabia has provided us with the most suitable environment that any startup would wish for to grow and stabilize its business. And now, with its Vision 2030 towards elevating the country’s economy and lifestyle of citizens, the support we received is unlike what other tech-startup would receive in other markets. This motivates us to remain part of the journey from within the kingdom and out to the world.” Added Mr. Brikcius.

Currently, Jeeny holds the 2nd biggest market share after the international giant Uber which had recently acquired Careem Technologies. “Our success thus far is also due to providing customers with the most affordable services, to cater for those who find practicality as a priority in their day-to-day purchasing choices.” As Mr. Brikcius puts it.

In Saudi Arabia alone, Jeeny runs its operations through 2 main offices, one of which is the company’s main headquarters, in addition to 6 service offices distributed across major and smaller cities across the Kingdom. Jeeny also plans to expand both its offices and team of Saudi experts to serve every corner within the Kingdom as company officials pointed out.

In addition to its plans to expand geographically, Jeeny also started releasing new services to its app starting with GSM/Data top up through a major STC partnership, and a door-to-door delivery service with options including Food, Groceries, Beverages and Pharmaceuticals, indicating that the company is headed towards “… becoming the first Middle Eastern Super App.” with a variety of offerings to the public in the near future.
