Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman pledged full support to Morocco on the issue of Sahara and all other political and security issues.
“We confirm our solidarity and support to all political and security-related issues, concerning your fraternal country, the top of which the Sahara issue, and our total rejection of any act that may affect Morocco’s supreme interests,” the King said while addressing King of Morocco Mohammed VI.
The King made the remarks in his presidential speech at the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders and the King of Morocco at Al-Diriyah Palace in Riyadh on Wednesday evening, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
King Salman emphasized the keenness of the GCC leaders to put their relations with Morocco at the highest levels in all political, economic, military and security realms.
“We appreciate your country’s supportive positions with regard to the causes of our countries, and we recall, with reverence, Morocco’s participation in the Kuwait liberation war, as well as its initiative to take part in the Decisive Storm (military operation in Yemen), and the Islamic Military Alliance to combat terrorism.”
Addressing Mohammed VI, King Salman said: “Your Majesty, I would like to emphasize that we pay a great attention to tackle the issues of the Arab and Islamic Ummah, including the Palestinian cause and the Syrian and Libyan crises. We also confirm our keenness on achieving Iraq’s security and stability.”
“In Yemen, we are keen to find a solution, in accordance with the GCC initiative, as well as the outcome of the national dialogue and the UN Security Council’s resolution 2216, hoping that the talks in Kuwait would bring about positive progress in this regard. The summit meeting will unify our stance, enhance our positions and promote our relations to wider domains, to best serve the interests of our countries and peoples,” the King added.
