Dr. Naif bin Mohammed Al-Ebady, undersecretary for electricity at the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, led the Kingdom’s delegation to the sixth general conference for the Arab Electricity Union being held in Jordan. Al-Ebady reviewed the country’s experience during the conference’s opening session, which addressed the status quo and potential of electricity in the Arab world.
Separately, Saudi Electricity Co. said recently it plans to establish a power generation subsidiary, pending shareholder approval, a step viewed by analysts as a sign the state-controlled power giant is pushing ahead with a long-awaited restructuring.
