Education Minister Azzam Al-Dakhil and Health Minister Khalid Al-Falih have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperation between their two ministries which will send 20,000 students abroad to study medicine and medical sciences.
The scholarships are part of the third phase of the program entitled “Your Job and Your Scholarship” which is also part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Foreign Scholarship Program. Al-Dakhil expressed pleasure at the cooperation of the Health Ministry.
“The agreement is in line with the continuing need to make available qualified Saudi staff in all medical specialties,” he said.
Al-Dakhil said signing the agreement would establish an integrated model for roles between the two ministries. “The achievement represents one of the many fruits of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs which will strongly contribute and influence in unifying the efforts toward effective national development under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,” he said.
Al-Falih said the agreement confirmed his ministry’s keenness and interest in qualified national health staff and in promoting partnership between the country’s institutions.
