KSU stresses excellence in academic endeavors

The head of the external reviewer team for international academic accreditation, Robert Frederick, visited King Saud University (KSU) to assess the quality of the academic program at the university.

The visit was made recently as a part of the international academic accreditation program of AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), a KSU media department spokesman said on Sunday.
AACSB International is a global, nonprofit membership organization of educational institutions, businesses and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education.

Nami Al-Jehani, dean of preparatory year received the head of the international academic accreditation along with college of business administration dean Moaddi Almeth-hib.
At the beginning of the meeting Al-Jehani welcomed Frederick and presented a brief display about academic activities, tasks and plans.
The discussions included the mechanisms of support provided by the deanship for colleges and the deanship’s role in ensuring the quality of academic program outcomes at the university.

Moreover, Almeth-hib stressed on the college of business administration’s efforts to elevate the quality of its learning outcomes in accordance with international standards of education and job market demands.
Furthermore, he revealed that the college has already begun working to obtain the national academic accreditation (NCAAA), European accreditation (EQUIS) and American accreditation (AASCB).

He, however, maintained that obtaining accreditation is not the ultimate goal but only a means toward development of education and improvement of relations with business organizations in the external environment.
At the end of the visit, Frederick expressed his appreciation to KSU for the valuable information and hoped for more contact and cooperation to achieve a better administrative performance.

Notably, Saudi universities have improved in rankings in the QS World University Rankings for the 2014-2015 academic year with KSU and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) ranked among top 250 universities in the world.
