‘Lifeline’s Pink Power’ month kicks-off

offering free consultations from Lifeline Healthcare Group

Lifeline Healthcare Group, a pioneering Dubai-based healthcare organisation, has launched ‘Lifeline’s Pink Power’ month, a major campaign to mark global Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. The campaign offers free consultations, free ultrasound scans and heavily discounted mammograms to empower and educate women in the importance of the early detection of breast cancer.

The campaign runs from 1st to 31st October, and is open to any woman aged 30 and over. A free ‘well woman’ consultation with our obstetrician/gynecologist, a free ultrasound scan and a mammogram at the special rate of AED250 will be offered at Lifeline Medical Centre Bur Dubai, Lifeline Medical Centre Marina (JBR) and Lifeline Hospital Jebel Ali. Appointments should be made by calling Lifeline on +9714 8845666/800 HOSPITAL.

On Saturday 24 October, ‘Wear it Pink Day’ adds some fun to the campaign, with everyone in the community invited to dress in pink and come down to Lifeline Hospital Jebel Ali’s carpark for a photoshoot mark this important month.

Advet Bhambhani, Chairman and CEO of Lifeline Healthcare says of the campaign: “Lifeline hospital is working hard during our ‘Pink Power’ month to reach out to as many women as possible with the message that early detection of breast cancer is vital – indeed when it’s detected early and is at the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 100%. At Lifeline Healthcare, we prioritize women’s health in our commitment to improving family and community health. ‘Lifeline’s Pink Power’ contributes to our core value of building healthier communities”.

With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, self-examination is crucial. Although 8 out of 10 lumps turn out not to be cancerous, it’s important for women to contact a doctor whenever they find a lump or have concerns.

Women are urged to take advantage of the discounted mammograms this month. Says Dr. Basema S. Jamaleddin, Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist at Lifeline Hospital: “Mammograms can detect tumours before they are felt or cause any symptoms. This screening is key for the early detection of breast cancer, for avoiding the pain of prolonged treatment and can it ultimately save lives.”

Lifeline Healthcare Group also offers breast reconstruction surgery to women who have had mastectomies. Visit one of our well woman consultations this month or visit www.lifeline.ae to find out more- Call 800 HOSPITAL
