Major International Companies collaborate for the Arab Youth Startup Marketplace

The Arab Youth Center (AYC) announced today collaborating with a number of institutions to host the Arab Youth Startup Marketplace (AYSM), scheduled to be held at Emirates Towers in Dubai between 3-5 October, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Collaborating partners include Mubadala Investment Company and South by Southwest (SXSW), an international organization dedicated to supporting creative people in the interactive, film, and music industries.

The AYSM is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and serves as a platform that enforces interaction between young Arab entrepreneurs and investors, which results in a sustainable ecosystem in the creative economy and promotes knowledge exchange.

Her Excellency, Shamma Al Mazroui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said: “We are delighted with the level of support AYC and AYSM are receiving from leading institutions that play an vital role in supporting entrepreneurship in the Arab region and the world; this reflects the solid belief in the potential Arab youth possess and their creative energy.”

“AYSM will offer Arab youth a unique opportunity to showcase their startups to a group of leading investors interested in adopting unique and feasible youth projects. Our collaboration with Mubadala Investment Company and SXSW as strategic partners adds value to participants of the marketplace and AYC will work to create a new and leading model that enhances entrepreneurship in the Arab world and exposes them to the industry’s top players,” she added.

More than 100 startups created by Arab youth will participate at the AYSM in order to introduce their projects to investors and attendees, connect with experts and the most prominent players in the industry. Sectors in which startups will be showcased include technology, media, education, healthcare, think tanks and innovation.
