The Holy Makkah Municipality expected the number of projects and investment opportunities to be offered in Makkah this year to exceed 100.
Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported that 19 investment projects were offered in the first quarter of 2024. These projects included the development of the Batha Quraish walkway, holiday homes in East Makkah, car services in South Makkah, commercial banks in the Al-Qashashia district, restaurants and cafes in East Makkah, gyms in East Makkah, commercial shops in South Makkah, as well as storage and building materials projects in South and East Makkah.
Last year, the offered opportunities exceeded 50 projects in Makkah. Major projects included the furniture market in East Makkah with a total area estimated at 200,000 square meters (sqm), the development of Shohada Al-Watan plan with a total area estimated at 1.4 million sqm, the development of the Batha Quraish walkway with an area estimated at 43,000 sqm, and car reservation events in East Makkah.
The Makkah Municipality accomplished several investment projects, notably Jabal Al-Nour mountain houses and Jabal Thowr, as well as smart parking for the central area and Makkah Yard, through Al Balad Al Ameen Co. (ABAMCO), the Municipality's investment arm.
