Middle East football fans attending UEFA Euro 2016 will experience the world’s most innovative stadiums, with iconic designs and fan-friendly features built with advanced construction software.
The three French stadiums - Le Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon, the Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux, and the Stade Velodrome in Marseille - have benefited from Trimble’s Building Information Modeling software Tekla Structures.
Stade des Lumières in Lyon
Launched earlier this year, the new ultra-modern stadium Olympique Lyonnais, has a capacity of 59,000 seats. Designer Cabinet Jaillet Rouby and manufacturer Martifer used Tekla software to model, manufacture, and install the complex steel structure, which includes a three-part cover of an outer ring and two inner rings.
Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux
The largest stadium on the Atlantic seaboard, Matmut Atlantique is an architectural masterpiece dedicated for the comfort of spectators. Vinci and Fayat groups used Tekla structures for the complex construction of the stadium’s stands, which have a modular capacity of 42,000 seats, and opened in 2015.
Stade Vélodrome in Marseille
The Stade Velodrome’s massive 250-meter cover, which weighs 6,000 tons and rises 65 meters from a huge framework of galvanized steel, was manufactured by Horta Coslada using Tekla software. The stadium was modernized in 2014, and has a capacity of 67,395 seats.
