In keeping with the hotel’s corporate social responsibility programme, a team of 27 employees from the Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai joined the emirate-wide campaign to clean up public spaces in Dubai International City last month. The activity was organised by Dubai Municipality as part of the Clean Up the World campaign, which engages an estimated 35 million volunteers in 130 countries each year. The event in Dubai brought together volunteers from the public and private sectors as well as the general public, to remove rubbish from sites both on shore and under the sea, from the streets and beaches to the desert and up to the mountains.
Mr Simon Moore, General Manager of Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, said, “We are proud to support this initiative and truly grateful to Dubai Municipality for having given us this opportunity. We all have a responsibility towards protecting and preserving the environment. I would like to thank all members of our team for their outstanding contribution to this campaign. Cutting down on wastes by recycling and reusing resources and conservation of energy and water is an integral part of our environmental objectives. Our participation in this campaign further emphasizes our efforts towards raising awareness about the cause and makes the community realize that through simple efforts one can conserve precious natural resources and make the world a better place to live.”
Clean Up the World plays a vital role in creating change by engaging volunteers and their community in practical activities for a healthy environment.
