The Ministry of Energy launched, during the Digital Government Forum 2023, a platform for monitoring the movement of petroleum products.
The platform will collect and analyze data on the movement of trucks transporting petroleum products. The data will be displayed at the monitoring and control center through an interactive map in real time.
The ministry said via the X platform that it aims to reduce irregular operations in the transport and delivery of petroleum products, indicating that the platform will follow the movement of petroleum products from distribution stations to the final beneficiary.
It seeks to ensure control and quality of consumption quantities for licensees, monitor irregular practices, and raise beneficiaries’ compliance with controls on the petroleum products utilization.
The ministry pointed out that the platform provides accurate statistics on supply and demand and the precise distribution of products between sectors, boosting beneficiaries’ compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, in addition to real-time tracking of the movement of 12,000 trucks and reading their data.
