MiX Telematics, a leading global provider of fleet and mobile asset management solutions, in conjunction with channel partner First Information Technologies, is the silver sponsor for the upcoming Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Conference in Saudi Arabia. The event, being held in Al Khobar from 18 to 19 November, is a valuable platform for MiX to highlight its proven fleet management solutions that have achieved enormous success for customers in raising safety levels, while yielding significant cost savings.
MiX Telematics Channel Partner Manager for the Middle East, Stephane Imbert, will be joining a panel of experts and looks forward to sharing industry insights with participants. The company will also be presenting on MiX SafeDrive, an integrated safety solution that brings together defensive driving techniques, In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS), and driver behaviour monitoring through in-cab driving aids that send out audio and visual alerts. Moreover, this solution offers safety consultants that assist customers in establishing, reviewing and auditing systems, processes and strategies related to safety for land transport.
Moreover, the company is planning to present its driver training approach, which includes dedicated training programmes, ongoing driver behaviour monitoring, remedial action and incentive programmes. Types of training include defensive driver training, heavy vehicle operations, four-wheel drive and recovery techniques, online driver training and ‘train-the-trainer’ programmes.
“Research has shown that over 80% of vehicle accidents are caused by human error. Our aim in sponsoring the HSE Conference is to reach out to a wider segment of fleet operators and decision-makers and introduce them to cost effective, simplified yet holistic solutions that help reduce accidents as well as lowering costs such as fuel and maintenance costs,” said Brodie von Berg, Head of Sales and Marketing at MiX Telematics Middle East.
“By learning defensive driving techniques and hazard perception skills, drivers can be more aware of potentially hazardous situations and avoid being involved in a collision. And, in addition, better driving also means more economic driving, which saves fuel in addition to reducing accidents. Our overall aim in terms of our MiX SafeDrive solution is: safer drivers, in safer vehicles, on safer roads. Our global experience has shown that this is achievable if certain steps are implemented correctly and fleets commit to safety for the long term,” added von Berg.
