Etihad Etisalat “Mobily” has presented a distinctive presentation about its participation in launching Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) in the kingdom; this presented as a part of (IPv6 national forum), which organized by CITC in Riyadh recently.

Mobily showcased the benefits of implementing (IPv6) as a first operator in Saudi Arabia, which allows the company to filter the data, improve the privacy and information protection, and enhance various parties of its infrastructure such as Domain Name System (DNS), and Gateways… etc.
Mobily introduces the (IPv6) services to national operators, business customers, and regional operators in many countries such as Kuwait and Jordan.
Mobily’s (IPv6) services meets all needs that support accelerating transition to (IPv6) in the kingdom. The company provides (IPv6) addresses for free to business customers, since customers can ask this service and get the new addresses instantly without any additional cost.

Additionally, Mobily introduces other consultation services to business customers related to planning the transition from the current internet protocol version to (IPv6), which enhance the smooth and effective transition and support technology development in the kingdom. This transition helps allowing new opportunities for business customers and ICT such as network expansion, integrated security for information network, improve mobile telecom service support and facilitating set and manage addresses of the new networks. These factors make (IPv6) is a crucial element in the development and growth of telecom sector in few next years.

It is worth to mention that Mobily has the leadership in launching the (IPv6) services, since it was the first operator which implement this advance technology in 2009, and the company was the first operator which implement the needed modifications for turn from (IPv64) to (IPv6).

(IPv6) causes a huge step forward in internet, since with the aggressive increasing of devices that connected to the internet; there was a critical need to implement the sixth version of internet protocol in order to generate new internet addresses.
