MoE sets calendar for next school year

The Ministry of Education has approved calendar for the new school year, setting June 8, 2016 as the end of the school year and June 10, 2016 for make-up exams.
The following scholastic year will start on Sept. 18, 2016, making summer break holiday three-and-a-half months.
The ministry stated that the number of school weeks will be 18 for each semester, with two weeks allocated for the exams. The next scholastic year will contain three holidays as defined by the ministry which set Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015 as the beginning of this new school year and Thursday, Sept. 17 as the beginning of the Eid Al-Adha holiday which will last for 12 days.
The ministry pointed out that Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 is the beginning of the end-of-semester exams, and the midyear school holiday will be on Jan. 7, 2016. The second semester starts on Jan. 17, 2016, and lasts until March 10, 2016. 
The mid-semester holiday ends on March 20, 2016.
The final exams of the second semester start on May 15, 2016 and the yearend holiday starts on May 26, 2016.
