Prince Faisal bin Salman, governor of Madinah, has opened a new college that forms part of the Prophet’s Mosque in the city, which will provide world class tuition and guidance on Islamic studies for local and international students and pilgrims. The ceremony was attended by Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, and his deputy Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Faleh.
Al-Sudais thanked Prince Faisal for supporting the development of the facility, which is aimed at providing services for Haj and Umrah pilgrims, and visitors, a local publication reported recently.
He said that the college was opened to serve Islam and strengthen academic relations between Muslims in various parts of the world. It would be especially helpful to build bridges among believers who speak different languages, he said. Al-Sudais said that the college would be recognized by the Ministry of Education and provide courses on a par with those offered by other universities in the country. All operations would be conducted taking into account the sanctity of the Prophet’s Mosque, he said.
He thanked the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for the massive contribution to the development and expansion of the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah, which he said was aimed at spreading the true message of Islam and supporting pilgrims.
