The National Housing Co. (NHC) signed an agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corp. (CMEC) to construct 20,000 housing units in the suburbs and neighborhoods developed by the former.
Majid Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing and Chairman of the Housing Program Committee, signed the agreement during his recent visit to Beijing, China.
The agreement is one of several with major international construction companies, NHC said in a statement.
The residential units, the company added, will vary in size and be part of suburban and urban communities that feature comprehensive facilities and services, including health, educational, and commercial services, alongside numerous public services.
NHC stressed that this agreement aligns with its strategy to support the Housing Program's goals. It aims to foster partnerships with leading global companies and attract international investments in the real estate sector, creating high-standard, affordable urban projects.
These efforts enhance the sustainability of housing projects throughout the Kingdom, driven by the commitment to improve citizen services and coordinate sector-wide efforts to meet the Housing Program objectives as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
