The National Water Company (NWC), represented by the Northwest Cluster, announced the launch of the implementation of 9 water and sanitation projects in different locations in Madinah Region, at a cost of about 500 million Saudi Riyals (SR), in order to increase the coverage of services, increase operational efficiency and improve customer service.
The NWC explained that the water projects include a project to provide drinking water services to beneficiaries in Al-Aaqoul district and Al-Awaina project in Madinah through the implementation of water networks and pipes of different diameters with a total length of 113.5 kilometers at a cost of more than SR 56.7 million, a project to implement water networks and pipes in Al-Suwaidra at a cost of more than SR 43. 6 million Saudi Riyals with a length of 118.7 kilometers, in addition to the project to implement the main water line in the third ring road east of Madinah at a cost of more than 26.1 million Saudi Riyals with a length of 18.7 linear kilometers, as well as the project to replace water networks and lines in the city of Yanbu at a cost of more than 26.8 million Saudi Riyals with a length of 41.5 kilometers.
The company pointed out that the environmental projects include the implementation of wastewater networks in the western part of the Ranunaaa system and the southern districts of the city with a length of 45.5 km at a cost of more than 37.8 million Saudi Riyals to serve Bani Bayada, Al-Jabra, West of Ranunna districts. NWC pointed out that they include a project to eliminate environmental damage in Al-Jurf district in Madinah (East Jurf and West Jurf) through the implementation of main sewers and networks of different diameters with a length of 57.6 kilometers at a cost of more than 78.2 million Saudi Riyals. The company pointed out that the projects also include the implementation of sewerage networks of different diameters with a length of 36.4 kilometers at a cost of more than 78.2 million Saudi Riyals. The company pointed out that the projects also included the implementation of sewage networks of different diameters with a length of 36.4 kilometers in Al-Samiri, Al-Saharij and Al-Hawra districts in Yanbu city, in addition to the rehabilitation of the existing lift station to receive water from sewage tankers, at a cost of more than 48.3 million Saudi riyals.
NWC stated that the environmental projects also include a project to eliminate environmental damage in the southern districts of Madinah through the implementation of the main sewage lines in the Ranouna systems and the districts of the eastern part of the system, in addition to networks of different diameters with a length of (81. 5) km long at a cost of more than (117.2) million riyals, explaining that the projects that have started implementation include the project to extend the lines of sewage networks in Al-Safak Al-Ahmar plan "Khaybar", Al-Mahd, Al-Hanakia governorates of Madinah region with a length of 24.6 km at a cost of more than 44.2 million Saudi Riyals. The company stressed that the projects are in line with the Ministry's plans to strengthen infrastructure, increase the coverage of water and environmental protection, improve its reliability, and raise its operational efficiency.
