The UAE Pavilion in the Arab Neighborhood in Souk Okaz gives visitors a warm, sincere, welcome, greeting them with a spectacle that embodies the country’s honorable history and bright present. The pavilion represents an Emirati old quarter, with markets, products and distinctive folklore.
This year’s edition of Souk Okaz features a number of new activities, including the “Okaz Boys’ Tent,” located by Okaz Avenue. The event is being held as part of the inaugural Taif Season, which is being organized by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.
The pavilion includes a range of events and activities, combining education and entertainment. Key events include a play, “Shahrazad and Shahra Yar,” which is presented twice, and presentations about teaching children painting skills and handicrafts, and interactive painting.
The pavilion also includes a University Corner, which presents information about scholars from history, including Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Khaldun, and Ibn Sina, and their key achievements.
The “Hospital” experience section explains the body’s organs and their functions, and how they are treated in hospital. Children also receive a “restaurant experience,” where they learn different forms of cooking, especially Arabic dishes.
The Okaz Boys’ Tent is witnessing a remarkable turnout, appealing as it does to the most precious audience category, and providing a range of events and acrobatic shows that appeal to all ages.
