The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H.E. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al-Zayoudi, witnessed on Wednesday 27/11/2019 the opening of the largest waste sorting plant in Ras Al Khaimah by Public Services Department ,with the attendance of H.E ,ENG Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi ,Director General of the Department , with the presence of a number of executives Directors of Agencies and directors of departments and section in the Ras Al Khaimah Department.
Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the Department," said. " The Department has accelerated the pace of work by establishing the largest waste sorting plant that was opened today, to sort and collect waste with a capacity of 600 tons per day, noting that the high amount of waste recycled this year confirms the success of the future plans of the Ras Al Khaimah Waste Management Authority within the UAE’s national objectives of converting 75% of landfill waste by 2020.
And in detail his excellency said: " The method of work of the factory depends on four stages of its main task of sorting processing storage and loading type in lines connected to the pressure units of these wastes, and that the new factory contributes to dealing with municipal solid waste by sorting it and increasing the volume of recycled materials by 20% while reducing the amount of waste transferred to landfills, and explained his happiness that the total number of loads collecting waste 150 moves a day from the city's interior and surrounding areas to this factory. Hoping that this will lead to the adoption of sustainable solutions on a large scale, serves the emirate in particular and the state in general.
