Over SR28 million water, sanitation projects for EP
Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussayen signed contracts with several companies for water and sewage projects in the Eastern Province. The three new contracts signed would incur a total cost of SR28.7 million. Director General of Water in the Eastern Province Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al-Wabil said SR11 million would be spent on maintaining the water and sewage systems in Baqiq governorate over three years, which would be implemented by Siraco. The value of the maintenance and operating contract in Maleija would be SR9.5 million over three years. In addition, the Civil Works Company would move orchards in Al-Ahsa at a cost of SR8.2 million over one year. Al-Wabil signed seven other contracts worth SR4.5 million, while the contract for operating and maintaining air conditioning systems in the general directorate of water and affiliated buildings, would cost SR1.6 million over three years. Al-Zamil for cooling and conditioning is implementing the contract. He also signed a contract for engineering consulting services to implement earth testing, and laying water and sewage pipes in the Eastern Province worth SR498,600 for one year, with Dar Al-Khaleej engineering company. A contract was also signed to supply and install sand and carbon filters in water plants numbers two and three in Al-Neiriya, worth SR496,000 for five months with the Eastern Province’s Mobioon company. A contract for maintaining fax machines and photocopiers at water offices in Hafr Al-Batin and Al-Alya village, Al-Neiriay and Maleija has been signed worth SR495,360 for three years.
