Panasonic solutions for better Indoor Air Quality

Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa launched its latest indoor air quality improving products. Air Purifiers to suit different requirements and the decorative Q Fan all made their debut in Dubai today. In its quest to address the surging issue of poor indoor air quality, Panasonic is introducing “Made in Japan” models of the two products for the first time in the region.

For Middle East, sandstorms are a routine and research reports are indicative of its major role play in contaminating indoor air. Composition of the dust in the sandstorm contains silica, which is a very fine and light particle with the ability to transport very easily in to the AC through tiny gaps. The high levels of airborne dust and sand can cause aggravation of allergies and harm respiratory tract especially of children. Solution to this problem is keeping the indoor air free of these particles either by frequently changing AC filter or using a purifier for the suction.

There has been increased concern in the UAE over the negative effects of indoor air quality on health. Changes in building design devised to improve energy efficiency have meant that modern homes and offices are frequently more airtight than older structures. Furthermore, advances in construction technology have caused a much greater use of synthetic building materials. Whilst these improvements have led to more comfortable buildings with lower running costs, they also provide indoor environments in which contaminants are readily produced.

Indoor pollutants also emanate from damp environments, poorly maintained air conditioners, carpets, smoking, burning of incense/bakhoor & so much more. As this is a broad category, the health effects are also wide-ranging. Pollutants from biological sources can wreak havoc on the human body, including irritation of the eyes, throat, nose and lungs, breathing problems (including asthma), fevers, and several other respiratory diseases.

“The time we spend indoors may be more detrimental to our health than we realize, especially here in the Middle East where we are in our offices or apartments for major part of our day. Panasonic realizes this and continues to make better use of the latest technology to ensure that the pollutant levels of indoor air may be controlled,” commented by Mr. Kai, Director of Panasonic Eco Solutions Hong Kong.

Mr. Mausham Basu, General Manager of Al Futtaim Panatech also reiterated the sentiment and was quoted saying, “We definitely see a demand for these products from the community as respiratory issues are on the rise and climate change becomes a daily challenge in our homes.”

In line with the reports on increased concern of the indoor air quality and an absence of cross ventilation at homes, Panasonic has shown keen efforts in improving people’s lives by bringing high quality Air Purifiers – F-VXL95M, F-VXL40M, F-VK655M, F-PXL45M into the regional market.

The four models are embedded with the HEPA Composite filter, Deodorizing functions, Dust Catcher, 3D Circulation Airflow, Nanoe Purification along with indicators and sensors to purify the indoor air quality. Except F-PXL45M model, the rest of the 3 models have Humidifying function which prevents the surrounding from dryness by creating moisture in the air. In particular, the F-VXL95 is equipped with Nano-Fiber filter which can entrap smaller air pollutants effectively compared to regular filters available.

Panasonic, with its advanced Japanese Technology, has introduced a new feature which is “Clothes Refresh” Mode which helps in removing bad odor from clothes.  This option is available in both F-VXL95M and F-VXL40M. With F-VXL95, Panasonic claims to have the biggest Air Purifier with Humidifier in the Middle East which can cover the area of up to 71 m2. Another striking feature introduced is the “Sandstorm mode” which is developed considering the sandstorms in the Middle East region. This feature is available in F-VXL95 & F-VK655. The expected purification applicable area is from 30m2 up to 71m2.

The Panasonic patented Nanoe technology embedded within these Air Purifiers emits long-life micro particles wrapped in water molecules which can penetrate into fabrics thoroughly and reach in far corners to decompose viruses and allergens. The HEPA filters, which are composed of high quality and randomly arranged fibers, are also worth commending within this model.

Another product introduced at the event was Panasonic’s Q Fan, named after the Japanese word for ball which translates to English as ‘Q’. Designed in the shape of a ball, Panasonic’s Q Fan is a turbo powered machine that blows out ‘high pressure jet air flow’ which is seven times more than the air that it sucks in through the specially designed channels. The product uses Panasonic’s innovative technology and design which makes it super-efficient and differentiates it from other products in the bladeless fan category.

Panasonic has developed this lighter, smaller and more stylish alternative to the regular fans with invisible blades and a 360o air flow possibility that runs on a two mode feature – Circulator & Fan. Available in Crystal Red, Champagne Gold and Pearl White colors, the unmatched quality of this product will make the indoor air inside homes, office and other spaces very pleasant.
