Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman has confirmed the success of plans for the gathering and movement of pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah for the Haj.
He also pointed to the success of the transfer of pilgrims from hospitals to the holy sites within a medical convoy which was launched on Monday carrying pilgrims admitted to hospitals in Madinah whose health have improved to allow them to perform the Haj this year.
Sami Eisawi, director of the General Department of Haj and Umrah Visitors, said Prince Faisal has been reassured about the process of pilgrims departing from Madinah to Makkah, as well as the transfer of patients via 34 fully-equipped ambulances in coordination with the Department of Health Affairs and the Saudi Red Crescent.
“The convoy included 34 ambulances and enough medical personnel to attend to the 22 cases, as each patient was accompanied by a doctor and a nurse, as well as all the medical supplies needed by patients during the Haj,” he said.
In turn, a number of pilgrim patients and their families expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for providing and facilitating ways for them to perform Haj.
So far, 733,794 pilgrims have gathered and are headed to the holy sites in Makkah to perform the Haj, under the supervision of Prince Faisal, who is also the president of the Haj Committee in Madinah.
