Pay with a tweet offer at all Virgin Mobile stores

Customers in Virgin Mobile stores will be reaching for their phones, not their wallets, for a limited period as the company enables pay for mobile top-up with a tweet in all of their stores.
From today, Virgin Mobile’s stores will become Tweet Shops, meaning customers can buy a SAR 20 recharge card by tweeting @VirginMobileKSA in the store, using the hashtag #VMTweetShop.

The Tweet Shop promotion is the first time that Virgin Mobile has allowed members to use social currency as payment.
“We talk to a fantastic community on Twitter every day, so we know the value of a tweet,” said Karim Benkirane, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia.
“Making mobile better is what Virgin Mobile is all about, so what better way to show that than by making mobile phones part of the transaction and transforming our retail stores into Tweet Shops”.

Saudi Arabians are amongst the world’s most dedicated users of social media. The Kingdom has more smartphones per person than almost anywhere else and two-thirds of people own two or more mobile internet enabled devices.
Virgin Mobile has brought together a team of young Saudi Arabians to design its service. Amongst these innovations is that every Virgin Mobile package comes with three SIMs, one for the mobile and two data SIMs, for the multi-device generation.
