PCFC Security gears up during Eid al-Adha holiday

The Security Department of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation has completed its preparations for individuals and companies access to the ports and free zones supervised by the PCFC in Dubai during the blessed Eid al-Adha holiday to ensure the smooth flow of entry and exit movements in these areas, as part of its strategy to provide all types of support and responsiveness to investors and operators, and its commitment to implementing the principles and standards of the security system within those areas.

H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, emphasized that all relevant teams have intensified their efforts to ensure the smooth flow of vehicle entry into the special development zones overseen by the PCFC. He added that these efforts come within the framework of the preparations followed by various relevant authorities in the Emirate to ensure the continuity of operations and avoid interruptions during holidays, with the aim of consolidating Dubai's position as a leading commercial and economic center in the region.

Al Neyadi elaborated: "The security measures taken include enhancing inspection and monitoring at the main entry and exit points of the areas overseen by the security management, as well as intensifying patrols of the Security Department under the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation and utilizing the latest technologies and applications that enhance security aspects to ensure individuals' compliance with instructions and adherence to guidelines aimed at contributing to maintaining security and order during the Eid holiday in those areas”.

These security measures cover 8 areas under the PCFC’s supervision, including Jebel Ali Port, Jebel Ali Free Zone, JAFZA, Rashid Port, Al Hamriyah Port, Dubai Maritime City, Drydocks World, and Deira Wharfage, where these areas witnessed active movement during the first half of 2024, with the issuance of more than one and a half million security passes and the entry of around 15 million vehicles, reflecting increased interest in those areas and business growth within them.

Al Neyadi stated: "The PCFC seeks to enhance cooperation with local authorities and international organizations concerned with security through participation in simulated exercises held to enhance security readiness during times of necessity. The Security Department team has attended 95 Drills since the beginning of the current year, in addition to participating in 4 training courses aimed at exchanging experiences and knowledge to develop joint strategies that enhance the safety of ports and customs as they are one of the main pillars of success in achieving its strategic objectives”.
