Prince Ali Sponsors Launch of World Campaign Program "Football without Fear"
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, President and Founder of the World Program for Football Development, the program launched on Wednesday a global campaign entitled "Fearless Football" to eliminate abuse, harassment and exploitation in women's football. The campaign aims to send a clear message to all associations and institutions working in the field of football, to ensure that there are appropriate systems for women and girls to practice football in a safe environment, free from harassment, abuse or coercion.
A number of international footballers and prominent personalities in the field of human rights and sports signed the petition, including Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, former English player Eniola Aluco and AFC Secretary General Dato Winzer John. Prince Ali bin Al Hussein said that this campaign was launched after the meeting held earlier this year to discuss the repercussions of the serious and ongoing crisis that hit the Afghan women's football team.
"Our goal is for each football organization to adopt the Declaration of Principles prepared by the World Football Project," said John Francois Cecilon, Executive Director of the Global Football Development Project. The campaign has been joined by prominent figures to urge the governing bodies of football to change quickly, but change requires a large number of votes "He said.
