Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman was present at the Arab Orphans’ Day celebration organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs on Thursday in the holy city. In Islam, according to the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah (the teachings of the Prophet [peace be upon him]), caring for orphans is of great importance. Prince Faisal has always been concerned with the care of orphans and others who need guardians. He has generously established associations and private institutions to take care of them.
Prince Faisal viewed the posters and murals prepared by the orphans as part of their declarations of allegiance and loyalty to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muqrin and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif.
Naif Al-Subhi, director general of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Madinah, thanked the governor on behalf of the orphans for his participation in the program and for taking such an interest in their welfare and happiness. Al-Subhi congratulated Prince Faisal for receiving the excellence award for the care of orphans at the level of the Gulf Cooperation of Council (GCC) 2014 and commended his leadership of the orphanage in Madinah.
He lauded the governor’s efforts in taking care of orphans and arranging for their education so that they may become ministers, doctors, engineers and soldiers. He also noted the prince’s support for integrated rehabilitation centers which care for orphans so they will not be a burden on society. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prince Faisal thanked the distinguished businessmen and all those who support the associations and institutions that care for orphans in the region.
