Prince Faisal launches endowment project

Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman launched the Taibah Charitable Doctors Association’s (Hayat) new logo, mobile clinics and endowment project during a ceremony here Tuesday.

The governor also witnessed the signing of agreements between the association and its sponsors and donated SR1 million to the endowment project.
Other sponsors included Nasser bin Aqeel Al-Tayar who gave SR2 million to the project, Yousuf Abdul Latif Jameel SR800,000, Mahmoud Al-Khamri SR750,000, Omar Al-Zoghaibi SR100,000 and Farouk Ilyas and Mohammed Al-Mohaisini Foundation SR50,000, an official statement said.

Addressing the function, Abdul Hameed Shahat, chairman of Taibah’s board of directors, thanked Prince Faisal, who is the honorary president of the organization, for launching the projects and his continued support.
“This royal support will enable the charity to provide better services to the public,” the chairman said. “Our association has so far extended services to more than 120,000 people and spent SR30 million,” he said.

He said an agreement has been signed with Al-Tayar Travel Group to establish an orthopedic clinic, and another agreement with the National Industrialization Company to set up a mobile dental clinic. Al-Jumaih Charitable Foundation has agreed to establish a mobile eye clinic.
“We have also signed an agreement to establish the charity’s first endowment project at a cost of SR15 million,” he said, adding that the real estate project would have a return of 8 percent.

Ahmed bin Mubarak Al-Radadi, chief executive officer of the association, said the endowment project would be established at a strategic location in Madinah to ensure good annual returns, which would be used to support the organization’s projects.
