Quest Arabiya, the Arabic-language factual entertainment channel, is calling on the MENA region’s best fishermen to apply for a chance to be part of their latest original programme. Known for its action and adventure programming, this will not be for the faint-hearted as successful applicants will be put through their paces and pushed to test their best fishing skills in a number of exciting challenges.
The choice to develop an original programme centred on fishing is a considered one for Quest Arabiya. Fishing is a deeply-embedded tradition in the Gulf culture; as people of the desert with minimal water resources for agriculture, GCC ancestors depended on fishing for survival and many locals continue to rely on fishing as a means of living or a hobby to enjoy.
The casting call for the new programme is open to all adults aged 17-40, who want to be a part of a locally-produced show and enjoy the spirit of adventure. The opportunity is a unique one for any dedicated fisherman as the cast will be taken to different locations around the region to battle it out and prove themselves as the top fisherman.
Commenting on the campaign, Khaled Khouri General Manager of Quest Arabiya, said: "This new programme is very exciting for us as not only will it feature regional talent, shine a spotlight on a favourite hobby and sport in our region but also speak to a tradition that is rooted in Emirati culture. Our audiences love adrenaline and adventure and this programme will deliver just that.”
