On 9th May senior procurement and supply professionals from the region and around the world gathered in Abu Dhabi for the 8th annual Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Middle East Conference & Supply Management Awards.
The conference featured keynote presentations by former UK government minister Lord Francis Maude, Head of Global Project Procurement at SABIC Abdullah Al Osaimi and head of service department at SABIC Ehab Mufti.
Nawaf Al Zahrani, Leader, Global Procurement Services at SABIC also provided his insights on Procurement in the region and beyond during an on-stage interview.
The awards ceremony, which took place after the conference, was a celebration of success and saw organisations from around the region such as KAUST, Emaar and OSN winning awards in their categories and Etihad Airways winning the overall prize.
The event was supported by global diversified chemicals company SABIC as part of their partnership with CIPS which has seen over 65 of their procurement team embark upon the journey to achieve the globally recognised professional designation MCIPS and their three most senior managers have been awarded CIPS Fellowship; the first Saudi Nationals to achieve this status.
