Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia ltd and Misk Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Misk Global Forum at the Four Seasons hotel to offer a training program in Saudi Arabia and help young adults gain advanced academic and professional skills that would boost their careers, support their employability and flourish in this new technology-driven future and provide quality skillsets to the Kingdom. The MoU was signed by Mr. JaeWon Jang, Chief Financial Officer of Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia ltd and Engineer Omar Al-Najjar, CEO of Misk Academy.
The education initiative, called “Samsung Innovation Campus”, will be launched early 2020 and will offer a series of initiatives to equip 18 to 25-year-old students with technical skills, with more than 240 hours of immersive training. The initiative reflects Samsung’s vision of empowering young adults for the technology driven job market. Samsung will offer the necessary training and Misk Academy will select the students that will be enrolled into this program and will facilitate the training venues.

This is the stepping-stone for future collaborations in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030’s Human Capital Development program to improve the outputs of the education and training systems and provide training to reach the international levels. This program will achieve comprehensiveness, quality, flexibility and affect various segments of the Saudi society to promote the Kingdom's regional leadership and international competitiveness,” said Y.J. Kim, President of Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia.
Engineer Omar Al-Najjar, CEO of Misk Academy, commented on the signing: “The Academy aims to enable the Saudi youth towards a leadership future in all sectors. This MoU with one of the largest technology companies in the world falls under the technical, educational and practical frame that aims to empower a generation with all of Saudi Vision 2030’s standards and skills”.
New technology developments and innovation will transform traditional industries and daily life in Saudi Arabia, the region and the world. The Samsung Innovation Campus program aims to bridge the shortage gap in advanced local skills in new technologies and ultimately drive forward the Kingdom’s digital transformation forward and assist the leadership in achieving their vision of building a knowledge-based economy, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020.
