Saudi Arabia has granted new licenses to 903 factories with total investments of SAR 23.5 billion in 2020 and with 39,404 licensed workers.
A total of 515 factories have started their operations in 2020, the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced on Monday on its official Twitter account.
The number of workers in the industrial sector rose to more than 17,807 in 2020, including 9,495 Saudis and 8,312 expat workers.
Meanwhile, the total number of the existing and under construction industrial facilities in Saudi Arabia increased by 9.9% to 9,681 by the end of December from 8,807 by the end of 2019.
In December, 73 new licenses were issued to factories with a total value of investments of SAR 2.15 billion.
