Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
The Crown Prince held an official reception ceremony for the Japanese premier.
Saudi Arabia seeks to boost cooperation with Japan on various energy projects, including conventional and renewable energy, as well as petrochemicals, to secure supply chains.
The two countries are expected to agree on joint investments to develop rare-earth minerals during the Japanese PM’s visit to the Middle East.
As many as 26 memorandums of cooperation were signed across several sectors at the Saudi-Japanese round table meeting.
Kishida arrived in Jeddah on an official visit on Sunday to hold high-ranking talks and boost bilateral relations.
