Saudi leadership hailed for resounding success of Haj

Several emirs, princes, scholars and senior officials praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for their wise leadership in making the Kingdom’s operation of the annual pilgrimage of Haj a resounding success.

In a cable sent to the King, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah, advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and chairman of the Central Haj Committee, said: “It is very obvious to the entire world that your wise leadership, utmost keenness and great efforts in serving the Two Holy Mosques have enabled the pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and comfort. This also shows that the Kingdom is offering the best ever services to Islam and Muslims as it was witnessed by the pilgrims year after year,” he said. Prince Khaled also sent similar cables to the Crown Prince and Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, minister of interior and chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee.

Prince Faisal Bin Salman, emir of Madinah, sent a cable to the King, congratulating him for the great success of this year’s Haj operation. “Your utmost keenness in mobilizing all the capabilities and making available of the highly advanced technologies helped the pilgrims to perform their rituals comfortably,” he said. Prince Faisal also sent a similar cable to the Crown Prince.

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh, president of the Shoura Council, congratulated the Saudi leadership as well as around 250,000 civilian and military personnel for their great efforts in making the annual pilgrimage a big success. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said in a statement that this year’s Haj was unprecedented success in every sense of the word. “The divine help plus the utmost keenness and care of the leadership are mainly contributed to this remarkable achievement,” he said while thanking all the civilian and security officials for their great efforts to make the Haj a hassle-free event.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense Director Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Amr honored on Thursday evening the Civil Defense personnel who gave outstanding performance in executing its emergency plan for this year’s Haj.
