Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah concludes participation in GITEX Technology Exhibition

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has concluded its participation in the GITEX Technology Exhibition 2020, held from Dec. 6-10 in Dubai.

 

The ministry reviewed, during the exhibition, the technical solutions and digital platforms it is offering to improve the services provided to pilgrims.

 

Many officials, visitors and specialists in the technical field visited the ministry’s pavilion and were briefed on the most important advantages offered by the “Eatamarna” application, the Saudi central reservation engine, in addition to the role that the ministry has played in applying precautionary and preventive measures and implementing them through technical means to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and to safeguard pilgrims from inside and outside the Kingdom.

 

During his visit to the pavilion, Prince Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mishari, assistant minister of interior for technology affairs, praised the ministry’s efforts in adapting modern technologies to serve pilgrims and facilitate their experience in performing rituals.

 

On the sidelines, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdulfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat held talks with the director of the National Information Center Dr. Essam bin Abdullah.

 

They discussed ways to enhance technical cooperation between the ministry and the authority for the gradual return of Umrah.

 

Dr. Abdel Fattah Mashat also exchanged with the director of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the UAE, Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Niyadi, the most important means of enhancing communication, including serving pilgrims and Umrah performers coming from the UAE.

 

Al-Niyadi also praised the high level of professionalism and the role that the ministry plays in managing the Umrah and Hajj seasons, using all available technology to serve pilgrims.
