Schneider Electric Keep Users Connected and Powered at Home and On the Go
Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the expansion of its first-in-class power solutions for home networks and mobile devices. The Back-UPS™ Connect BGE90M Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and M5BK and M10BK Mobile Power Packs will provide users with the power they need to stay connected both at home and while on the go. “In today’s digital world, consumers now rely more heavily on consistent access to the network than ever before to work, communicate and access applications. As a result, it has become increasingly important to protect the power availability of the devices that keep us connected,” says Colin Campbell, VP of IT Business for Schneider Electric. “APC by Schneider Electric’s new battery backup solution – the Back-UPS Connect BGE90M – provides the power and protection needed to keep modems, routers, smartphones and tablets running at home or in a small business environment. The M5BK and M10BK Mobile Power Packs provide convenient battery charging for smartphones and tablets when you're on the go.” Traditionally, a UPS for home and small business users provides enough run time to finish work and safely shut down a PC, usually less than an hour. The Back-UPS Connect’s efficient design maximizes runtime for low power devices, even out performing larger UPSs on equivalent low power loads. Designed to protect the network gateway and other low power devices like house phones, Back-UPS Connect keeps the network powered for over four hours. Additionally, with the inclusion of two USB charging ports, the BGE90M provides convenient and safe charging to mobile devices, especially critical during power emergencies. In addition to maintaining the network connection during power outages, the BGE90M protects devices from surges caused by lightning and severe electrical disturbances. The new M5BK and M10BK Mobile Power Packs extend the range of APC by Schneider Electric power products to mobile devices like smart phones and tablets, ensuring device availability and keeping you connected wherever life takes you. The M5BK is powerful enough to provide two full charges to most smartphones, while the M10BK can support a single full charge to a tablet or four full charges to a smartphone. An LED display shows the unit’s remaining charge while an on/off button ensures the battery does not unintentionally discharge when not in use. The APC BGE90M, M5BK and M10BK are available for purchase through resellers and select retailers. More information can be found at www.apc.com. About Schneider Electric
