See By Chloé: WINTER 2015-16 COLLECTION

For Winter 2015-16, the See By Chloé girl revels in her world of interiors, exploring an eccentric side with a youthful sense of sophistication. Inspired by the unique perspectives of the See By Chloé gang cast on the streets of Paris, contemporary separates are layered together to reflect an authentic, independent style. This season, the See By Chloé girl is free-spirited, wandering through the endearing, upside-down theatrics of a Wes Anderson film, dressing up or dressing down to suit her mood. With a collegiate touch borrowed from the boys, she wraps up in argyle, blanket checks, and raw denim, or flirts with a touch of garden fantasy straight from the pages of her literary dreamland. Rediscovering the classics, she layers shapes, colours and textures together in her own story of nonchalant, girlish ease. “I love the spirit of Wes Anderson’s movies. The characters of girls with fabulous quirky looks, a jumble of borrowed and new clothes and the intensity of the colors, slightly surrealist quality. This mix inspired with a real street casting of young faces from Paris created the attitude for me of the See by Chloé girl this season” says Clare Waight Keller. Flashes of orchid pink, vermillion, lilac, pale persimmon and apricot add a feminine chill to the menswear palette of black, charcoal, navy, and camel, in a subtle collision of decorative and uniform elements that define the collection. The former arrives in graphic grids of lace and dreamy floral prints reminiscent of an Indian garden in cotton and silk crepe, the latter in the contrast plackets, patch pocket shirting, capes and double-breasted outerwear with a boyish slouch. Denim is worked throughout in an array of light and dark finishes, notably in straight leg trousers lined with copper-tinted buttons, a patchwork hooded cape, chambray shirting and a collared shirtdress. Continuing a sense of undone sartorialism, turtlenecks and button-down shirts appear layered beneath jacquard and jersey sweatshirts, boatneck wool shifts and a knitted poncho, for a mix of dry and rich textiles exemplified in the cocooning effect of a matching wrap scarf and sweater. Long strap handbags are worn on the hip in two-tone calfskin and panelled shearling, whilst supple barrel-shaped styles are adorned with goldtone hardware and bohemian tassel details. On foot, buckle and ribbon-trimmed loafers with a midheel are extended into zipped ankle or calf-length boots in leather and coloured suede.
